Empathic Communication: the Language of Connection

Communication grounded in deep empathy transforms our relationships with partners, families, friends, colleagues and clients - and our relationship with ourselves. 

The approach you'lll learn in this workshop brings together the power of Non-Violent Communication - developed by the late Marshall Rosenberg and his collaborators - and the wisdom of horses. It's deceptively simple, but creates a deep shift in our consciousness, in our ability to be compassionate towards ourselves, and in our ability to stay open and connected to others even when what they are saying is hard for us to hear. It also enables us to express ourselves more effectively, so that others are more likely to hear us.

Non-Violent Communication or NVC is a way of communicating that reconnects us to our compassionate nature. Believing that we give joyfully when we have both choice and the connection that comes from deeply understanding each other's needs, Rosenberg created a way of expressing ourselves and deeply listening to others that enables us to stop judging, criticising, defending, withdrawing or attacking, and instead perceive and honour the universal needs underneath all our actions.

The principles of NVC are very similar to the ways that horses naturally communicate with each other - and with us, if we are able to listen. As a result, working with horses gives us the opportunity to practise empathic, connected communication and get powerful real-time feedback, deepening and reinforcing our learning.

This workshop is suitable for anyone wanting to express themselves more confidently, listen more deeply, and have more satisfying relationships in all areas of their life. It would also be beneficial to anyone wanting to improve their communication and relationship with the horse(s) in their life! As with most of our other workshops, however, you don't need to have previous horse experience - there's no riding involved and you are not expected to arrive already knowing how to communicate with horses.

Registration is limited to 4 participants, in order to create a safe environment and ensure that everyone gets individual attention and support to integrate their learning, and plenty of horse time.
